Customer Info

Dark Arts Market Canada is a site dedicated to promoting independent, alternative Canadian artists and artisans. We do this via our bi-monthly online markets, as well as our in-person markets through our sister site Toronto Dark Arts Market.

We also boost other dark, alternative-themed markets across the country by using our resources to help spread the word about these events.

Why online?
There is no denying the energy and sense of community at an in-person market, and we will continue to present our monthly Toronto Dark Arts Market events. But it’s also a fact that due to location, scheduling or health issues, many people, both artisans and customers, just can’t make it out.

We also know that, while there is enthusiasm to shop and support Canadian artisans, it can be hard to find them, especially on larger sites such as Etsy. And especially when the work is dark, weird, or macabre.

So an online market for our niche demographic helps artisans and customers find each other, all while supporting the Canadian economy.

How the Online Market Works
Vendors are selected in advance and will each have a dedicated page on this site for the duration of the specified market. When the market weekend opens, vendor pages, as well as a directory of all vendors, will go “live” for three days only, after which point they will be removed as we prepare for the next event.

During the market weekend, customers may peruse this site and follow links to individual vendors’ online shops. Nothing is sold via this site – once you follow the link and leave the Dark Arts Market Canada site, your interactions and purchases are done directly with the vendor.

Dark Arts Market Canada bears no responsibility for content on sites that we link out to, including online shops for participating vendors as well as sites run by other markets.

Each participating vendor in our on-line events sets their own prices. Vendors keep the entirety of the purchase amount and are responsible for collecting and remitting any applicable sales taxes.

Vendors also determine their own response time to fill your order, as well as shipping fees, policies for returns or exchanges, and additional charges for custom work, if offered. We are not responsible for these issues or for your interactions with participating vendors in terms of customer service, product quality, or other issues that may arise.

We will absolutely not become involved in resolving any discrepancies or miscommunications between vendors and customers who accessed those vendors via this site.
